medical expenses for the treatment of animals, feed for sheltered and recuperating animals, maintenance of
shelter, paying salary for VCARE vets, attendants, ambulance driver, also the fuel and maintenance charges for
the ambulance. We encourage donation of resources which are required for the welfare of animals. These could

Volunteer
Volunteers working at VCARE during the volunteer program get different kind of experiences. They learn to
handle the animals when they are sick and depressed. They will be working with street dogs, cats, cows and
donkeys. Volunteers learn & gain experience in treatment and doing first aid of sick and injured animals. 5 th year
vet students get to see minor surgeries under the supervision of experienced veterinarians. Volunteers also get to
attend the Bird Rescue Camp organised by VCARE at chakli circle on 14th and 15th January every year and get to
help and treat the injured birds. No contribution is too small. We also encourage organising fundraisers like bake

Our mission is to treat sick and injured street animals at our
facility Aashiayana and keep them till they recover and are able
to fend for themselves.
Program Overview

Duties & Responsibilites
The following are the duties and responsibilities of volunteers at our shelter, Aashiyana -
- Food preparation for animals
- Distribution of food to dogs, cats, cows and donkeys
- Assisting for rescue calls
- Treating sick animal
- Counselling and assisting school children in school
- Walking the dogs of Aashiyana and helping the paraplegic dogs in physiotherapy and walking in the dog cart and hydrotherapy
Other Details
Minimum age : 18 and above
Language requirements : English/Hindi/Gujarati
VCARE would provide food and accommodation for the
volunteers at Aashiayana. In case the volunteers would prefer
staying in a hotel, VCARE would help to find an appropriate
nearby accommodation.
